This opening chapter is extraordinary. I feel honored to read/witness it.
You're storytelling is so direct, so brutally clear, your words haunt me: the smotach pain and silences, the pictures of fried chicken and the wails of your father, the move to tell about partition and Bangladesh Liberation war. My god, the deaths and trauma that your family carries, and they all carry in some form. Thank you for giving voice to these. My god.
I am so touched by your words. They come straight from your heart and touch mine. Thank you for your willingness to be open and share. It allows me to weep with you and feel the great sadness I feel for the loss of my brother. My heart hurts for you and I feel joy that you have wonderful memories of your brother so many years later - and you still recall what he meant to you and still means to you. Keep writing… ❤️
Janet, I so feel your loss of your brother. It took me a long time to learn that I could feel the loss of my brother without always feeling the trauma of it too. I hope the same for you one day too. My love to you.
Thank you, Monica. It was very interesting to hear your thoughts on your art process as well. Wishing you well on your art path. Thank you as always for your support and love.
